Start your visit with the Dominican Monastery of San Marco, sponsored by the Cosimo the Elder and frescoed by Beato Angelico, one of the pioneer of the Renaissance. Admire the first residence of the family the Medici Palace, considered the prototype of a typical Renaissance private residence. Proceed to the Church of San Lorenzo, rebuilt in the 15th century by Filippo Brunelleschi and decorated by Donatello, the private church of the Medici, where weddings, funerals and religious ceremonies related to the members of the family were celebrated. Proceed to the Medici Chapels, the imposing mausoleum where some of the most important members of this family are buried. These include the New Sacristy, projected and decorated by Michelangelo, and the Princes Chapel, which celebrates the eternal glory of the family with its wonderful Florentine mosaics.
